Eventbrite - #SipLocalKC Volume III: #SipLocalKC & Surviving the Odds Foundation presents 'Art for Life' Benefiting Survivors & Fighters

This month #SipLocalKC has teamed up with Surviving the Odds Inc. to bring you a night to remember where we are raising funds in an effort to decrease the mortality rate in women of color due to breast cancer.

So many of us have been affected by or know of someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Because of this reality, it is important that Surviving the Odds, Inc. (STO) continue their work here in Kansas City and beyond!

A mobile mammogram screening that provides access to women of color can cost a breast cancer fighter $250 or more per screening.STO and their partners are able to offer mobile screenings at a cost of $150 per screening.

Our goal at Art for Life will be to raise enough funds to cover at least 24 mobile mammogram screenings.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards these screenings. #SipLocalKC is also offering a limited edition pink #SipLocalKC tee and donating proceeds from the sale to STO.

Tickets for Art for Life are $20
Limited Edition #SipLocalKC tees are $25 via the Eventbrite site.
You can also make a donation on the Eventbrite site in any amount.

About Surviving The Odds Inc.
Surviving The Odds is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to decreasing the mortality rate in women of color due to breast cancer. African-American and Hispanic communities are experiencing the highest statistics of death due to breast cancer at an alarming rate, much higher than that of any other ethnic group.

This has motivated Surviving The Odds, Inc. to take action and reach out specifically to those high-risk communities as well as elderly women to provide the necessary education, support, and resources to lower the statistics and increase awareness.

By partnering up with other organizations, Surviving the Odds is dedicated to making a significant difference in fighting breast cancer in the minority communities across the country in an effort to celebrate lives with more birthdays.
